Over the past six months, the team have been working on obtaining funds to run the event through government grants and sponsorship.
We are disappointed to advise that both Healthways and Tourism WA are not willing to support this event and Lotterywest will not give us a decision until March which will leave us insufficient time to organise an event of this magnitude. Although the City of Perth granted us $35,000 sponsorship, the wider business community were unable to support us advising that our event did not fit into their goals or they had donated to the much needed Bush fire appeal.
We simply cannot put this event on due to insufficient funding and we therefore advise that we have made the decision to cancel.
On behalf of the team, thank you for supporting us and we hope that maybe sometime in the future we can hold this event in the true and unique spirit to which it is intended.
